Who am I?

Personal Statement

I have a wide and deep interest in Learning Disorders. I have been a teacher, a researcher, and a diagnostician. More importantly, my interest is personal. I am dyslexic myself and did not learn to read until after I finished college. I also have two daughters with Dyslexia. In addition to my personal commitment, I love my work. Every person I work with is unique and there by challenges my knowledge and creativity. Furthermore, the rewards of seeing my patients reach their potential is tremendous.

My greatest resources over the years have been the parents and patients I have worked with. They have taught me much more about learning deficits and how to deal with them than any books or professors. I collaborate with the individuals and families that I work with. My goal is to have the children whom I test feel better about themselves after the assessment then before I started to work with them.
